The Mitsubishi 4G engine is a 1834 cm³ displacement engine developed by Mitsubishi Motors. It employs Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) technology, meaning direct gasoline injection into the cylinder, achieving high-response and high-precision fuel control.
The 4G9 series engine is a mature product currently in mass production by Mitsubishi Motors, achieving world-class levels in structure, performance, and reliability. Its main advantages include: a compact design, smaller size and lighter weight compared to engines of the same displacement; high rigidity of main engine components; lightweight design of key moving parts to reduce friction losses; high-efficiency combustion methods such as rolling combustion and optimal fuel injection; and minimal engine noise through enhanced cylinder block and crankshaft rigidity and the use of vibration-damping resin materials in some parts. It also features an advanced electronic fuel injection system, meeting Euro 3 and Euro 4 emission standards with low fuel consumption.
